The Knitted Dress

Are you looking for something cosy to wear but want to look stylish and comfortable at the same time? A knitted dress is the perfect piece to keep you warm now that the temperatures have dropped. The great thing about a knitted dress is that it can be dressed up or down depending on when and where you want to wear it. I have pulled some outfits together to show you how these can be worn in both a formal and casual way.

Red merino slouchy jumper dress, Jigsaw, £190

Black knee high boots, Dune, £180

Black bag, Jigsaw, £185

Red is a key colour for the season so this is a great one if you want to tick off that trend. I have kept the accessories black to give the dress the focus and adding a nice black wool coat like the double breasted Mango one that I showed in my outerwear blog at the beginning of the month would really finish off the outfit.

Neutral ribbed midi dress, John Lewis, £45

Trainers, Veja, £160

Cap, Varley, £30

Brown cross body bag, Cos, £99

This is a casual way to wear the knitted dress, dressed down with trainers and a cap. I have kept the colours tonal, which I think works really well with the rib knit of the dress. Adding a long line puffer coat to this outfit would complete it.

Black lightweight merino turtleneck dress, Cos, £95

Black ankle boots, Mango, £79.99

Black bag, Apatchy, £85

Belt, Isabel Marant, £150

Simple and sophisticated with an all black outfit. Adding the tan leather belt will give your figure definition and adds a nice contrast to the black outfit. Again the black double breasted Mango coat from my Outerwear blog would look great with this outfit or you could be bold and add a coloured wool coat.

Grey knitted dress, Hush, £76

Tan knee high boots, Carvela, £129

Tan bag, Clarks, £110

I love the tan accessories next to the charcoal grey of this dress. This would be great for work or a daytime event.

Camel button detail dress, Reiss, £70

Animal court shoe, Mango, £49.99

Brown bag, Charles Keith, £85

Adding the court shoes with this knitted dress gives it a formal look and would make it appropriate for work or a smart occasion. Again, keeping the colours tonal really works with this dress. Adding some gold hoop earrings and necklace would finish off the outfit.

Let me know which one is your favourite and can you recreate these looks at home by shopping your wardrobe?
